Your Questions Answered!

Do I really need a videographer on my wedding day?
YES!!!! Hire someone even if it is not me. One of the biggest regrets of couples is not having a film to watch their wedding day back. Weddings move fast and it'll be difficult to remember all those details and emotions without some video. It is also great to have a film for family to view who cannot make it to your wedding or, if you plan on having children, to show them someday!

How long will it take to receive my video(s)?
Most films are delivered within 12 weeks. It could take less time or, on some rare occasions, more time depending on amount of editing. I want my films to be as close to perfect as possible and spend hours and days getting them there!

I usually will deliver the highlight film first then will deliver any add-ons in the days to follow.

The exception is if you add on a sneak peak film. In that case, the sneak peak will be posted within 48 hours of your wedding.

How long does a full highlights film take to edit?
For me it takes between 20-30 hours total. I work at my kids nap times or later at night. There is a lot of footage to sort through and building a unique story of a wedding day takes lot of time and careful thought. I give each wedding film a lot of attention to make it as close to perfect as possible.

How will my wedding be delivered?
A unique link will take you to downloadable files of your video(s). Your highlight film will be posted on Megan Manger Films YouTube channel.

How do you describe your editing style?
I like true-to-life colors but do try to pop those colors out to make things a bit more bold/bright/interesting to the eye.

Can I choose my own music?
I cannot use mainstream/popular songs in films due to copyright issues. I pay a subscription to legally license music for use in my films via soundstripe.com. You are welcome to visit the webpage before your wedding and make suggestions for your video! Just let me know ASAP as I begin editing your video shortly after your wedding date.

Any tips to set my video up for success?
I hesitate on this one because focusing on your wedding day and all the love that surrounds you is the most important thing and all that is needed to make a great wedding video. Filming your day as-is is my top priority. With all that being said, I'm a sucker for great audio in a wedding film and that can be best achieved from bride/groom letter exchanges, personal vows, or great speeches that speak on the couple specifically. 😍 These things help bring on ALL the feels!

Do you offer raw footage?
I used to, but now I do not typically offer raw footage. There are exceptions, but you will not see it listed on my price page.

Why don't you offer raw footage?
A few reasons. First, 4k and HD files are HUGE. They take up a lot of space and most computers do not have the capacity for all the files.

Second, it can be a lot for any one person to sit through and watch. I keep my camera(s) rolling most of your wedding and that equates to hours of footage. I think most, if not all couples, will not spend time watching hours of footage. They would rather watch the best moments and main events.

Third, raw footage does not best represent my work as there is always some shaky and blurry footage during every wedding I do. Whether I am adjusting settings or prepping for my next shot, not every single recording is pretty. I want my clients to have the best footage of their day to share for years to come and every single raw footage recording is not that.

With all that being said, if raw footage is something you know you want, I can and will accommodate! Just ask.

Do I need to make time for the videographer to get their shots in during the wedding day?
No, I do not need you to set any extra time aside. I like to film the day as-is. The couple has enough to worry about on their wedding day without adding on extra tasks! That being said, I will work with you to make sure I get any specific shots the couple wants. I'm also there to film any letter or gift exchanges between the couple, as well as first looks. There may be times I need you to move over a bit or I may set up a pose or two during or after your portrait session with your photographer. Other than that, I'm in the shadows, acting like a fly-on-the-wall!

I want you to be happy with your wedding video(s). Please let me know if there is anything additional I can do to accommodate you or make your video special!
